Work for the week of 4/13:
Students begin remote learning on Monday. This week we will focus upon continuing our work with functions from unit 5 which we were working on when last at school. Learning Objectives are: + I know how an input-output diagram represents a rule. + I know that if a rule has exactly one output for each allowable input, then the output depends on the input and represents a function. + I can name the independent and dependent variables for a given function. + I can represent the function with an (1) equation, (2) rule, (3) graph, (4) diagram, and (5) table + I can identify graphs that do, and do not, represent functions Each day, there will be a video for you to use for guided instruction and practice activities in which to practice these skills. Use each days assignment to guide your efforts and take notes as you view videos to important ideas and information - sometimes there will be graphic organizers provided. By week's end, you will reflect on how you can determine the best method to use to identify functions and will solve problems to submit within google classroom to show your understanding. Our class meeting times are Tuesday and Thursday at 10:10 to 10:55. During our class meetings, I will be live to help you with these items within a google meet. You can join during class time by going to the Google Meet Icon from the waffle in the upper right hand corner of your google screen and using the meeting code krainikmath from within your school google account. Type in the above code to join the meeting at our class start time. You should use this code anytime we are to meet virtually - be it for class or office hours. On Monday 4/13 you will: Today you will go into google classroom and work to: - Define what a function is. - Identify how to determine a function from graphs, tables, and rules (equations). - Create Guided notes about these learning goals. 1. Watch this tutorial for an introduction: WHAT IS A FUNCTION? 2. Use the CC8 Function Notes to take guided notes as you watch the video. 3.Review information about different types of functions and their characteristics: FUNCTION FUN - adding information in your own words to your notes using this resource.
